JEWELRY. SCULPTURES. OBJECTS. GRAPHIC ARTS.
By using these different mediums, I explore the thin line between art and craft in order to push boundaries and arrive at a visual and tactile work. A work in which art and wearability form a whole. As an autodidact I had the opportunity to discover and learn; to grow and above all to develop my own style which over the years has evolved through my diverse skills and interests. I am highly susceptible to visual stimuli and experiences around me and especially in nature, this is often reflected in my work. This gives me the opportunity to create unique works for my clients. I work mostly with Sterling silver and 18 carat gold. I often bring extra artistic value to my creations by up-cycling: by combining these elements with steel, copper, bronze, reclaimed and found materials. As well as Sterling silver and 18 carat gold, I also work with precious and semi-precious stones but pebbles, sea glass and old pieces of wood also play a major role in my work. To create an extra dimension and surface finish, my work is mostly oxidized, sometimes with a touch of enamel and sometimes etched. By combining all these materials I aim to merge the past and the present. In my graphic works I strive to translate my objects into a two dimensional shape or vice versa. Here the line fades again, as I try to create a work in which the drawn, the textures and structures can become a wearable object that can be recognized in the Jewel or Object. |
In the sea of life, in the sea of death
my soul, tired in both, seeks the mountain,
from which the waters have receded.
